The Story Behind AM Nutrition Services:

Some companies start with a business plan. AM Nutrition Services started with a loss.
Amy McCallister was twenty years old when she lost her mother to breast cancer. Twenty, old enough to understand exactly what was happening, young enough that it rearranged everything she thought her life would be.
Anyone who has sat beside someone they love through cancer knows the particular helplessness of it. You can't fight the disease for them. You can't take a single treatment in their place. All you can do is show up and look for the places where you might actually make a difference.
For Amy, that search led her to nutrition.
She watched how much food mattered during her mother's illness - not as a cure, because she has never pretended it was one, but as comfort, as strength, as one of the few things a family can still control when everything else feels out of their hands. A good meal on a hard day. Enough protein to keep fighting. Someone who understands what a body going through treatment actually needs.
She became a Registered Dietitian. And then she did something audacious: she started a company out of the trunk of her car.
No office. No staff. Just Amy, her credentials, and a conviction that personalized nutrition counseling shouldn't be a luxury - it should be covered by insurance and available to everyone who needs it. She drove to appointments, handled her own scheduling and billing, and built the thing one client at a time.
The vision was bigger than a practice. Amy wanted to build careers for dietitians - to create a place where nutrition professionals could do what they were meant to do: improve health, reduce chronic disease, and walk with families through the hardest chapters of their lives. Kids and adults alike.
Today, AM Nutrition Services is a team of dedicated dietitians and referring providers across the Phoenix area, all sharing that original mission. Insurance-covered. Accessible. Personal.
Every October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, that origin story hits a little harder. This company exists because a twenty-year-old lost her mother and decided to spend her life making sure other families had something she wished hers had: a dietitian in their corner.
That's the story behind AM Nutrition Services. It's not really about nutrition. It's about what you build out of love, after loss.
