Learn to achieve blood sugar control with daily meal planning, recognition of abnormal blood sugar and weight management! Your initial visit will include an assessment of your current clinical data, including weight, BMI, available lab values (cholesterol, triglycerides, Hemoglobin A1C, blood glucose readings), along with a medical history and medications. Your nutrition history will be discussed, paying special attention to usual food intake, weight history and diabetes knowledge. The role and effect of balancing diet, exercise and medication will be emphasized, along with recognizing the symptoms of high and low blood sugar. Personalized and computerized meal planning will take place, along with keeping detailed food and activity records.
